Originally from Burkina Faso, Esprit Libre is a slam poet whose work is distinguished by its depth, social commitment and conscious perspective. His writing draws from African history, ancestral spirituality and contemporary social realities, reflecting a pursuit of truth, dignity and cultural renewal. From a young age, he embraced slam poetry as both a form of expression and a means of action. For Esprit Libre, words are more than entertainment. They are a peaceful weapon, an educational tool and a vehicle for social transformation. His performances combine emotional intensity, oratorical skill and sincerity, connecting with both young audiences and institutional spaces. His journey includes becoming a finalist and runner-up in the national slam poetry championship before being crowned Burkina Faso’s National Eloquence Champion in 2025. That same year, he represented Burkina Faso at the World Slam Poetry Cup in Mexico, the Inter-University Global Campaign in Gabon and the African Slam Poetry Cup, where he placed seventh continentally, entering the African Top 10. Esprit Libre continues to bring conscious African voices to international stages and inspire a new generation through poetry.
