Poetry Africa invites poets from around the world to be part of this year’s Online Open Mic. As part of the festival’s digital programme, we’re calling on voices that challenge, inspire and reflect the spirit of this year’s theme.

To participate, submit a video recording of your original poem, no longer than 3 minutes. Your piece should engage with the 2025 theme and showcase your unique perspective and style.

Submission Guidelines:

· Only original work will be considered

· Video length: Maximum 3 minutes

· Format: MP4 or MOV preferred

· Language: Any, but English subtitles are encouraged if applicable

· No sexist, homophobic, racist, xenophobic, transphobic or otherwise discriminatory content will be accepted

· Deadline: 28 September 2025

Selected videos will be featured on Poetry Africa’s online platforms during the 2025 festival.
