The 2nd Poetry Africa Film Festival Announces Call for Entries for the 2025 Edition

Durban, South Africa, The Poetry Africa Film Festival], one of country’s premier poetry celebrations of cinematic storytelling, is excited to announce that submissions are now open for its 2nd edition, taking place in October.

Filmmakers from around the globe are invited to submit their work across a variety of categories, Short Films, Augmented Reality, Documentaries, Animation, Experimental, and Student Films. The festival welcomes innovative, bold, and thought-provoking storytelling from both established and emerging voices.

‘We are thrilled to open submissions for this year’s festival and look forward to discovering new voices and powerful stories that reflect the world’s diversity and creativity,’ said Hlongwa Siphindile, Festival Curator.’

Submission Deadlines: 20 August

Submissions can be made via FilmFreeway, at https://filmfreeway.com/PoetryAfricaFilmFestival  and for info on submission guidelines, eligibility, and more.

Selected films will be eligible to be screened before live audiences and industry professionals.
