Born in Magdeburg, Karsten is a poet, writer, cultural organiser, lecturer and translator. His literary interest is the field of tension between the individual and society. As an author of prose and poetry, he has been published in several magazines and anthologies, and his poetry has been translated into English, Italian, Spanish and Chinese. His novel Doppelspiel zu Dritt was published in 2015, and he has written and produced several radio plays. He has participated in literature festivals in Armenia, China, Kazakhstan, Nicaragua, Taiwan and Italy and has been the recipient of scholarships from the Region Saxony-Anhalt and other institutions.
