DJACBA ELBA PRISCA VICTOIRE, born on January 29, 2005, in Garoua. Daughter of Mr. NDJACBA ALBERT and Mrs. Tchakao Paune, and the eldest of six children. I am a young Toupouri woman from the Far North region of Cameroon, specifically Mayo Danay. I am a third-year law student at the University of Garoua. I began public speaking in 2020 and participated in an oratory competition in 2021, where I was crowned national oratory champion. I discovered slam poetry in my second year of high school; my love for rhymes and assonance laid the foundation for this art form. Indeed, imagining myself one day performing on stage with my own text, like my idols Malika the slam poet and Lydol, an opportunity presented itself with the *SLAMEROUN* competition organized by Mr. Faithful at the Alliance Française in Garoua in 2021. Following this, I obtained 3rd place in the regional slam competition. My journey began to take shape thanks to slam writing workshops led by artists such as Myname, Lydol, Free-T, and Mardi Essomba, also held at the Alliance Française in Garoua. Moreover, my hometown has given me the opportunity to share my passion for slam poetry with the public (friends, family, strangers), allowing me to express myself and convey messages through the beauty of spoken word at various events such as: • REPARES Festival • Griotik International Festival • Pink October (Breast Cancer Awareness Month) • International Women’s Day • Slam Day • Fête de la Musique (World Music Day) and countless other social and cultural evenings that I couldn’t possibly list. Furthermore, slam poetry has allowed me to meet many artists from the country and even from elsewhere, such as Kareyce Fotso, Lydol, Baladji Kwata, Isnebo, King Farrah from Chad, and Exola from the Central African Republic… with whom I had the immense joy of sharing the stage. Furthermore, I am also the national slam poetry champion for the Paris 2024 Olympics. In addition, I am a member of the collective LA VOIX DU SAHEL, with whom I recorded my first song entitled “Femme,” and of the BRIGADE POÉTIQUE NORD.
