I am Mandiaye CAMARA, also known as CamouMC L’Africain, born on June 30, 1972, in Thiès, Senegal. A cultural entrepreneur, I am Vice President of the Senegalese Slam Poetry League, President of the Thiès Regional Slam Poetry League, President of the Wa-Slam Thiès Collective, a poet, slam poet, slamaster, and the initiator and Director of Senegal’s first inter-school slam poetry competition, Le Poète des Écoles Thiessoises (Le POETH). I was the runner-up in the Thiès regional slam poetry competition twice, in 2017 and 2018. I am the CEO and Director of FaDiey Éditions, which has published nine books since 2021. I am the author of two poetry collections entitled “Jeu S’lâme” and “Flo-raison d’une muse errante” (winner of the 2021 Immaculée Éditions International Poetry Prize). Co-author of four anthologies: 19th Spring of Poets Cairns20 2016, The Cause 2017, Of Cries and Ink 2018, Elegy of the Sowers of Africa 2019.
