KARY RS is a Puerto Rican poet and playwright, and a graduate of UPR-Arecibo. She is the 2026 National Champion of PuertoRicoPoetrySlam and the 2026 runner-up of CariConPoetrySlam in Curaçao. Her creative work extends across poetry, theatre and film. She has published two plays, both recognised by the International Latin Book Award, and has written three short films that have received awards at festivals around the world. KARY RS is also the founder of the production house Hijos de la Palangana, through which she develops work exploring social criticism and existential themes, often infused with touches of humour. Her artistic practice combines writing, verbalised imagery and storytelling as ways of communicating ideas and creating meaningful connections with audiences.
