Frank García, born in Montellano, Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, and residing in Santo Domingo, is a writer, poet, reciter, psychologist, and LGBTQ+ activist. He began his artistic career in the band Naciones Ciegas, where he wrote, sang, and recited poetry. His work has been published in various magazines, newspapers, and anthologies. He is the author of “Lo que escribí mientras esperas en una habitación vacía” (What I Wrote While You Waited in an Empty Room) and “Flotando sobre las cañas” (Floating Over the Reeds), confessional works about memory, loss, and Caribbean affections. He has presented his eponymous recital in cultural venues. He also hosts the podcast “El intento” (The Attempt) and is currently working on a novel and several new musical projects.
