Frank García, born in Montellano, Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, and based in Santo Domingo, is a writer, poet, spoken word artist, psychologist and LGBTIQ+ activist. He began his artistic journey as a member of the band Naciones Ciegas, where he wrote, sang and performed poetry. His writing has been published in various magazines, newspapers and literary anthologies. He is the author of Lo que escribí mientras esperabas en una habitación vacía and Flotando sobre las cañas, two confessional works exploring memory, loss and Caribbean experiences of affection and belonging. He has also presented his poetry recital in cultural spaces. Beyond poetry, Frank hosts the podcast El intento and continues to develop a novel alongside various new musical projects. His multidisciplinary practice brings together literature, performance, music and personal experience.
