Xabiso Vili is a World Poetry Slam Champion, Mandela Washington Fellow, and award-winning writer whose work bridges speculative poetics, heritage, and new media. As the founder of Siziintsomi Creations, he creates transformative spaces that combine poetry with augmented and virtual reality, reimagining African futures through projects like Re/Member Your Descendants and Kwasukasukela – In The Beginning. His VR film Black Boi Meets Boogeyman explored masculinity in collaboration with The Brother Moves On, and his AR project Guardians of Leeds turned city walls into living poems. Recognized as a Future Africa Grant recipient and a Mail & Guardian Top 200 Young South African, Vili brings both global slam experience and speculative vision to Poetry Africa. Whether convening The Champions Table or casting “spells for tomorrow” in Between Myth & Future, he embodies poetry’s power to transform identity, community, and possibility.
