Vus’umuzi Phakathi is a writer, editor, performer, curator, publicist, and teacher. He has been published in the Mail & Guardian, Sowetan, and SMag and was an editor at the Culture Review Magazine. He hasedited two poetry collections, and his one-man poetry-in-performance productions have toured locally and internationally. He is the co-founder and executive director of Current State Presentations, which launched the Current State of Poetry initiative. He was featured in the Mail & Guardian’s Top 200 Youth, Destiny Man Magazine’s Power of 40, and won the first Best Poetry Album award at the SABC’s 5th Annual Crown Gospel Music Awards.
