Raphael d’Abdon holds a PhD in Linguistics and Literary Studies and is a Research Fellow at UNISA. His research focuses on literature in English, spoken word poetry, poetry in education, poetic inquiry, and poetry therapy, and he has authored or co-authored over fifty publications on these topics. He is a founding member of the research groups ZAPP (The South African Poetry Project) and Consortium on Advancing Poetic Inquiry in the Global South and is a South Africa representative of the Africa Haiku Network. He is the author of four poetry collections, and his poems are widely published and translated.
