Joonas Veelmaa, a professional poet and part time copywriter, was the Estonian Poetry Slam Champion in 2023. After being a top finalist in 2022, he became the first Estonian poet to win the European Poetry Slam competition in 2023. His debut poetry collection Alaska was published in 2022.
