Sarah Godsell is a poet, an educator, and a historian. Born in Johannesburg in 1985, she has a deep love for this city. She published her first book, Seaweed Sky in 2016 and it was shortlisted for the NIHSS awards in. Her second book, Liquid Bones, was published by Imphepo press in 2018. She has featured in numerous anthology and journal publications including 20.35 Africa, Sol Plaatje European Union longlist collections 2016 and 2018, the Atlanta Review 2018, and Illuminations 2018. She has performed on stages both local and international, including the international poetry in Maputo in 2019, and Poetry Africa in 2020. She lives in the hope in the healing power of poetry, and that better worlds are there to be build.
