Hape Juliett Mokhele, is an Environmental Health Practitioner, writer, award- winning performance poet, MC/ host, GBV activist and public speaker. She hails from the dusty roads of Kutlwanong in Odendaalsrus and currently resides in the Vaal Triangle. She uses her way with words to motivate and uplift the world, giving life through her poetry. Her varied works are mainly in Sesotho and English. She has appeared on many local stages and international platforms in Lesotho, Botswana and Dubai, UAE. She has performed at the Lesedi FM Poetry & Soul Sessions, Vaal YB20 Honorary Awards, Free State Arts Festival (Vryfees), Mangaung Cultural Arts Festival (MACUFE), Soulful Sounds: WOMAN TO WOMAN, Makhanda (formerly known as Grahamstown) National Arts Festival, MAUN International Arts Festival, the National Women’s Parliament, DUBAI EXPO 2020 and at Songs & Poems of Love @ Nirox Sculpture Park in 2022. She has been featured online and in written publications, theatrical poetry productions, radio station advertisements, voice overs, a television documentary for Etv – ‘Reflections’ by Napo Masheane and was the featured poet in a dance film by Sizakele Mdi & Thamsanqa Majela published on YouTube during the COVID-19 pandemic – SUB ZERO.
