Amee Slam is a multi-disciplinarian Ivorian artist who holds an M.A. in Business Law & Taxation and was introduced to Slam-poetry in 2010 during a writing workshop. In 2013 Amee was named one of the ten best slammers in Côte d’Ivoire for The Spoken Word Project. Following this, in 2014, she founded an association of slammers, the “Collectif Au Nom Du Slam”. She has appeared at more than thirty international festivals and released ten singles. Her first solo concert at Institut Français de Côte d’Ivoire coincided with her being inducted as a member of the International Artistic Committee of the Masa (Africa Market of Performing Arts) in 2013. She was named Ambassador of the Africa Cup of Slam Poetry in 2020 and has won several prizes including, Artist of the Year 2023 (Lili Women Festival), Best Slammer of the Year 2023 (Lili Women Festival), African Talent Awards for Best Slam Performance 2023, First Special prize of ECOWAS for Poetry (MASA 2020), Best Slammer against violence against women 2021, Women’s Inspirational Leadership Journey Award 2021, RnB Revelation Award 3R Revelation Competition 2009 and the 3rd Prize of Excellence of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, Performing Arts 2018 (Collectif Au Nom du Slam).
