Matěj Plachta is a slam poet from the Czech Republic who has quickly made his mark on the Czech slam poetry scene. He co-organises Slamateri, a platform supporting emerging slam poets, and Boleslam, the first Slam Poetry festival in the Czech Republic. He is the second Czech slam poet to qualify for the World Championship, bringing his work to an international stage. His practice focuses on celebrating the art of slam poetry while continuously exploring and pushing its boundaries. His style can be summed up as thinking out loud about the things everyone knows, yet no one remembers to think about.
