Hamilton Chambela is a Mozambican cultural producer, photographer, and artistic agent, widely regarded as a central figure in the development of spoken word poetry and performing arts in Mozambique. In 2014, he co-founded the production company Palavra & Palavras Eventos, through which he created nationally renowned projects such as the multidisciplinary soirée Palavras São Palavras and the National Spoken Word Poetry Championship (Moz Slam). He also serves as the general coordinator of the Watana Festival on Mozambique Island. In recognition of his impact on the valorization of spoken word, he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate degree.
