Dr. d’bi.young anitafrika is an internationally celebrated dub poet, biomythicist, theatre-maker, and liberatory pedagogue whose Ubuntu-centred decoliberatory work spans performance, scholarship, and arts leadership across four continents. Laureate of the 2026 Celebration of Cultural Life Award, the 2025 Metcalf Performing Arts Prize, and the 2023 Siminovitch Finalist Prize in Theatre, she shapes contemporary theatre and performance training through her pioneering methodology, the Anitafrika Dub Praxis. Dr Anitafrika is currently completing Black Womxn Theatre: Personhood, Practice, & Pedagogy, to be published in fall 2026 by Spolrusie Press, and is offering performances, workshops, artist residencies, and Anitafrika Dub Praxis work with universities, theatres, and cultural organisations internationally.
