Sarah Uheida

Libia/South Africa

The Libyan-born poet and essayist lives and works in Cape Town. She holds a BA Honours in English Literature and an MA in English Studies (Poetry), both with distinction, from Stellenbosch University. In 2021, she received the internationally renowned Miles Morland Foundation Writing Scholarship, and in 2020, she won the Dan Veach Prize for Young Poets. Her work has been published in anthologies including We Call to the Eye & the Night and Relations: An Anthology of African and Diaspora Voices, and her collection Not This Tender was published this year. Her work has appeared in several journals, including New Contrast and The Atlanta Review.
