SHORT BIOGRAPHY Ntokozo Zulu, affectionately known as Starring in the arts scene, is a Durban-based poet, curator, MC, language practitioner and podcaster who began his creative journey in 2007. A founding member of the DUT Poetry Society which is currently known as Usiba Lwabalobi, he served as its Chairperson from 2014 to 2018. He is the mind behind the popular tagline “Izinkondlo Ziyaphilisa” (Poetry Heals), widely embraced in the poetry community. He further expanded this vision by launching a poetry podcast under the same name in 2021, providing a platform for artists within the genre to get to narrate their journeys. Between 2014 and 2019, he curated and co-hosted a late-night show titled “Sicikoza Ngosiba” (demonstrating artistry through the pen) on Ukhozi FM every Monday from 23:00 to 02:00, alongside Lungisani Mavundla and the late Bheka “Beekay” Mchunu. He continues to provide guidance to many upcoming poets and assists in launching poetry sessions around the province of KZN.
