Charmaine Kolwane Mrwebi is a Free State-born, Setswana-speaking poet, publisher, storyteller, and literary mentor who has become a leading voice in South Africa’s literary landscape. She has published three poetry collections and authored over 15 children’s books, carving a space for African stories that speak to both young and adult audiences. Passionate about education and cultural preservation, she has played a pioneering role in introducing poetry to schools, where she inspires learners to write, perform, and celebrate literature. This work has given rise to a new generation of poets and helped build thriving poetry communities across the Free State and beyond. As a publisher and bookseller, Charmaine provides platforms for new authors, while as a mentor she guides emerging voices with care and vision.
