Ayanda Billie is a writer and poet born in KwaNobuhle, Uitenhage Kariega. He founded a local book club and is the co-founder of the Mandela Bay Book Fair. He holds an MA in Creative Writing from Rhodes University and has published three collections of poetry: Avenues of My Soul, Umhlaba Umanzi, and KwaNobuhle Overcast. His poems have appeared in Numsanews, New Coin, Ityhini, Carapace, Kotaz, Timbila, Illuminations, and on several online literature journals. He won the South African Literary Award for his IsiXhosa collection Umhlaba Umanzi, and his English collection KwaNobuhle Overcast won the South African Literary Award in the poetry category
