Siphokazi Jonas is a multi-award-winning poet, playwright, performer, and producer. She has staged multiple poetry and theatre productions around South Africa. Jonas has been a featured act at poetry sessions, festivals, and conferences around the world. In 2016, she was the runner-up for the Sol Plaatje European Union Award. She is co-producer and co-writer of the #WeAreDyingHere short film which won a SAFTA for Best Short Film in 2022. Siphokazi was the first featured poet at Poetry Africa. Her forthcoming debut poetry collection Weeping Becomes a Riverpublished by Penguin Random House South Africa is available from September 2024.
