Nondwe Mpuma was born eMaXesibeni in the Eastern Cape province. She holds an MA Creative Writing degree from the University of the Western Cape and is currently a lecturer at the same institution. She is the author of Peach Country (2022) published by uHlanga Press. She is the winner of the 2017 Patricia Schonstein Poetry in McGregor Award and has been published widely in South Africa and abroad. She is one of the hosts of The Red Wheelbarrow Society based in Cape Town.
