Christie van Zyl is a published and spoken word poet, social & creative entrepreneur, and indigenous wellness practitioner. Her works speak to the human condition: inclusivity and transformation, as well as intersectional & plural identities. Christie is an alumnus of the South African Arts and Culture Trust’s Building Blocks Program and the Raymond Ackerman Academy of Entrepreneurial Development. She is pursuing her Ph.D. in Healing Science at the Mhlabuhlangene School of African Medicine. Christie’s most recent projects include Poetry in the Marketplace for the Artfluence Human Rights Festival, hosted by the UKZN Centre for Creative Arts. Christie is also currently part of the We!ARE Climate Justice Campaign, with a full grant offered by
AfricaNoFilter and CRTVE Development.
