SINDISWA LADY-AFRIKA ZULU is a poet, author, show organiser and public speaker on subjects such as Black Consciousness, Literature and Feminism. Africa inspires her and she tells stories of women struggles and about social, economic and political challenges which she believes can be overcome. She was a junior writer at Intandokazi Yomphakathi community newspaper. Her poetry journey started at an early age and she gained courage and found a platform to share her work on a bigger stage while visiting Makhaye Orphanage Home in Johannesburg. She joined Bleeding Pen Poetry Society in Lamontville Municipal Library and DUT Poetry sessions in Durban where she gained more confidence and encouragement from fellow poets and the audience.
She facilitated a Poetry class for High School students of Sibusisiwe Commercial Tech at Umbumbulu and worked as a mentor, in partnership with the Bubula-Mbongi organisation. She has been featured on Ukhozi FM, Vuma FM, Intokozo FM, Imbokodo FM, Highway Radio and Inanda FM. as well as on Isolezwe, Ilanga, KZN Namuhla, Inkazimulo and UMaka Magazine. She was a panelist in the Ethekwini Municipality ABM Women in Business Seminar and featured on an Online Show of WendyMhayise Media talking about publishing books. She has performed as a guest poet for the Department of Arts and Culture, KZN Poetry Tours and for Unilever, Sundowners Jazz and Poetry in Durban Playhouse, Ink Arts Festival, IPDP Poetry Revivals, Poet in a suit, and many other events. She later advanced her Art by being a Guest Speaker at various events, and she mostly covers. The Original Material Awards honoured her with the title of Best Female Writer. Sindiswa published her first Poetry book; Mayine. She has a live poetry dvd recorded in IsiZulu with English subtitles. In 2019 she organised the EsikaNandi Poetry Show under her Company Afrikazania Ink.
