Sarah Godsell is a poet, a healer, a teacher, and a publisher. She began performing in the Johannesburg poetry scene in 2009, and has since performed both nationally and internationally. She performed in Poeta’s de Alma festival in Maputo in 2019, and was on the lineup of Poetry Africa in 2020.
Sarah’s work has been published widely, including in The Atlantic Review and Astra magazine. She has two full collections of poetry, “Seaweed Sky” published by Poetree publications in 2016, and “Liquid Bones” published by impepho press in 2018. She is co-founder of the intersectional feminist publishing house, impepho press. She stubbornly, and joyfully, chooses up.
