Míriam Cano is a Catalan writer and journalist. She has published three poetry books; “Buntsandstein” (2011)), which was awarded with the Martí Dot Poetry prize, “Ancoratge” (2013) and “Vermell de Rússia” (2020). She has also published narrative work – the short story “La Comuna de París” in the jointly authored book, Cremen Cels (2018), and “Sort del Casc”, in Contes per al confinament (2020).
Miriam has translated (into Catalan) work by authors such Emily Dickinson, Albert Camus, Sandra Cisneros and Maggie Nelson. She has combined her literary activity with her job as a cultural journalist in Catalan media and publications like La Xarxa, Icat-Catalunya Ràdio, Catorze and El Món d’Ahir among others.
She is the co-director of the Literature and Thought school Escola Bloom, based in Barcelona, where she also teaches Prose, Poetry and reading seminars. Miriam is also the co-editor of the literary magazine Carn de Cap.
