You Djy, You Poet!

Eight young poets from the University of Johannesburg’s Arts Academy  will present a poetic performance themed around our hands. Their poems will probe both the actions and subsequent consequences of our handiwork.

The poetry speaks of and to the violence and displacement they have encountered. It explores their ambitions and fears and asks the listener to be cognizant of the life and death the work of our hands is capable of.
