The Poetry Africa Open Mic programme is an open platform to new and aspirant poets to test their work in front of an audience. This year’s Open Mic call for poets was online; and unpublished poets were invited to submit in any South African official language. A selection of poems chosen by the judges will be presented each day. From these three finalists will be selected to perform on the Final Night. The winners will walk away with prizes. First prize is R2 000.00, second prize is R1 500.00 and third prize is R1 000.00. We invite you you to hear and feel the poetry that South Africa’s unpublished poets want to take to audiences.
