Menzi Sibiya

“My truth is that if we put the effort we get better with time. Either you studying, in a relationship, playing sport or a writer but with consistent effort we eventually get better.”

MENZI SIBIYA discovered his love for poetry, reading, and writing in 2007 while studying in Pietermaritzburg. At the time, he was hindered by immense self-doubt and he only started sharing his work in 2010 during the weekly poetry sessions at the Bessie Head Library in Pietermaritzburg. These poetry sessions helped him with a platform to showcase his work, meet new talent and also to give him the confidence that a writer/performer needs. Recently he released his first book, and he is very much involved in finding new poetry spaces around Pietermaritzburg.
